CLOSING CONFERENCE 23.06.2014.

The final conference of the project Photovoltaic Systems as Initiators of Regional Development, approved as a part of the third call of the IPA cross-border programs Hungary – Croatia, was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek on 23rd June 2014.
The conference was formally opened by the dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Dr Drago Žagar, Full Professor. Further, all attendees were welcomed by the deputy mayor Denis Ambruš and the deputy prefect of the Osijek - Baranja County, Dragan Vulin. At the closing conference, the project coordinator, Dr Denis Pelin, Associate Professor presented the activities carried out during the project. The project started with the implementation on 1st March, 2013 and ended on 30th June, 2014. The main topic of the final conference dealt with the undertaken steps and activities regarding development of configuration of an optimal photovoltaic system for climate conditions of the border areas. In addition, the impact of PV systems on the electric system, economy and environment was studied and reported. The distinguished guests of the conference from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad Dr Katić, Full Professor and Dr Branko Nakomčić-Smaragdakis, Associate Professor shared their experiences in working with a photovoltaic power plant which is located on the building roof of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, while the representatives of the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Traffic in Osijek shared their experiences with successfully implemented projects in the field of renewable energy sources (solar electric car, green skills for electrical and mechanical engineering). Hosts and participants of the conference were representatives of the project partners from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek as the project leaders and representatives of the Center for Regional Studies in Pecs, Hungary Academy of Sciences as the project partner. Members of the teams presented their research results, and in the final lecture, Dr Damir Šljivac, Full Professor proposed an optimal photovoltaic system for the cross-border region regarding technical and economic approach and the approach in accordance with environmental protection.
