Training for local stakeholders

Training for local stakeholders #3 was held in Pecs from 4th to 5th of December 2018.

As part of the project training #3, the project partners and local stakeholders participated two field trips in Pécs. First was the biomass-based power plant, and the second was an active house in Pécs.

The straw fuelled block of Pannonpower’s biomass fired power plant which was opened in 2013 was a result of an approximately HUF 24 billion development. The built-in heat generation capacity of the new power plant block is more than 70 MW, while its cogenerated power capacity is 35 MW. It generates approximately 1,000 TJ heat annually. By using agricultural by-products as fuel instead of natural gas, the power plant managed to cut back on carbon dioxide emission by 150,000 tons per annum.

The 'Reborn Home' project shows how an active house can be a real strategy to improve in terms of Comfort, Energy and Environment but also aesthetically and therefore improving the economy and market value of existing stock. This house has received the Active House Award in 2017 and the E-On Energy Globe Prize in 2018.


The second day of the last RuRES training was an active day with some new informations for the project team members and the local stakeholders too.

In the first part of the training, we invited three speakers from different fields, Márta Somogyvári (University of Pécs) presented the new business models of energy sector; Lajos Tímár (Tímár & Tímár Ltd.) spoke about a planned RES investment, about the energy carrier changing processes of Toldy Ferenc Hospital in Cegléd; Gódi Attila (CEO, Terran Ltd.) presented an innovation from the building industry. This was the Generon photovoltaic tile.

Réka Horeczki (MTA KRTK) presented some results of the project survey and Danijel Topić (FERIT) demonstrated the possibilities and advantages of the off-grip photovoltaic systems in the second part of the training.

Bernadett Nagy (Kaposvár University) and Denis Pelin (FERIT) explained the training material which was completed within the framework of the project, and Sandor Zsolt Kovacs (MTA KRTK) presented the excel-based RES potential model of the RuRES project.
