Although during the previous period the implementation of the RESCUE project was significantly impacted by the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, the project consortium (FTN, FERIT, KCV, KBCO, and SFSB) found the best possible solutions to progress the implementation of project activities.
The biggest obstacle was traveling because project partners weren't able to hold planned project management and financial meetings. However, the project team members from all institutions successfully surpassed this limitation by using all forms of digital communication channels.
The project management meeting was held on the 8th of June 2020 in Novi Sad, where the representatives from all partner institutions were in attendance. It was a great opportunity to discuss ongoing activities and make the plans for future activities.
In July 2020 the first renewable energy facility within the RESCUE project is completely finished. It is the 30 kW solar thermal system for heating the pool water in the Medical Rehabilitation Clinic of the KCV installed at the empty roof of the Medical Rehabilitation Clinic. Also, several important procurements have been finished in the previous period such as the procurement of a biodiesel production system for biodiesel generators and 3 RES based systems for Clinical Hospital Center Osijek. After that, the equipment for the FTN BEMS system has arrived.
Installation of the two more facilities within the RESCUE project started in the previous period. Those are PV systems at the Faculty of Technical Sciences and two public buildings of the KBCO. The first system has 50 kW, whereas the second system has 230 kW. It is expected that both facilities will be operational shortly.
RESCUE project partners represented the RESCUE project with 4 scientific papers at IEEE Smart Systems and Technologies (SST2020) conference special session on the 14th of October 2020.
